Movie Critic
Occasionally I have written an investigative movie review—one that goes beyond a typical review to address some mystery. Examples include The Haunting in Connecticut (Skeptical Inquirer May/June 2009). More recently, as a Blogger I have been eating more popcorn and using my "Investigative Briefs" blog to critique such movies as Amelia (which was praiseworthy for not engaging in conspiracy theories about Amelia Earhart's disappearance), The Fourth Kind, 2012, Paranormal Activity, and The Men Who Stare at Goats—all in 2009. I now refer to these as "Nickell-odeon reviews" and rate them with one to four wooden nickels.
