Haunting Experimenter

In the course of my more than forty years as a Ghostbuster, I have often had occasion to conduct an experiment with regard to some "haunting" phenomenon. For example, in 1991 at Louisiana's Myrtles Plantation (see photo), while being filmed for a Discovery Channel documentary, I tested a hypothesis for banging noises heard by overnight guests: I found a loose shutter and slammed it against a drainpipe. (See my "The Haunted Plantation," Skeptical Inquirer, September/October 2003, 12-15.) Again, I have produced several "ghost" photo effects, including orbs, ectoplasmic strands, and thermal images-as well as "spirit precipitations" on cloth. (See The Science of Ghosts, Prometheus 2012, 306, 310.)
