Turin Shroud Experimenter

In researching image-formation properties of the Shroud of Turin, I conducted experiments with so-called "Vaporology" as well as contact imprinting (see first matched pair of photos, positive and negative) and making a rubbing from a bas-relief (additional photo). (The face on the Shroud of Turin is pictured in the second pair of matched photos.)

The experiments involved some of the materials and equipment shown, including a light microscope, mortar and pestle, mineral samples, brush, dauber, and cloth swatches (filed in the index card boxes shown).

For a discussion, see my book, Inquest on the Shroud of Turin.
