Ink Scholar
In addition to becoming a Pen Scholar and Paper Scholar over the ten-year period in which I produced my book, Pen, Ink, and Evidence, I also took a scholarly approach to the study of ink. I made ink from old recipes, collected ink bottles and inkwells, and even helped develop a simple and effective test protocol for identifying types of inks used in historical documents.
