Iconographer

I had a graduate course in Iconography (the study of images) taught by the late literary scholar, writer, and artist Guy Davenport. My iconographic work includes tracing historically the Shroud of Turin's image of a crucified man to demonstrate that it was not a miraculous first-century "self-portrait" of Christ but instead the work of an artist of the thirteenth or early fourteenth century (see my Inquest on the Shroud of Turin, pp.31-37). Another iconographic project was my creation of an Alien Time Line which illustrates the evolution of the popular extraterrestrial likeness (see my Real-Life X-Files, pp. 160-163).
